You won't see the golden arches usually seen silhouetted against the sky or dozens of neon signs flashing “Welcome”s when you drive onto the island? Not in this town!! Even the Red Roof Inn doesn't have a bright red roof on Hilton Head! (Actually, they did get a variance for a more sublte shade of red.) Our business community conforms to very strict building codes & signage (very few neon lights) that protects the beauty and integrity of the original plan of development for the Island. And if you have been to Hilton Head Island before, you’ll be surprised to see all the development and new shops on Hwy 278 from Sun City coming toward Hilton Head. Exit 8 off I-95 has made it much easier to approach the island directly, and the milemarkers on Island as well as the Cross Island Expressway (toll) (around the island directly to the Sea Pines Circle) are very helpful as well. (Don’t speed. I say, DON'T SPEED. Unmarked cars will be waiting for you. We don't like it either, but at least now you know.)

JAN/FEB 2009. Sunshine and "winter season rates". Winter Carnival co-ordinated by the Hilton Head Hospitality Assoc., Fashions a la Heart. A month long Gullah Celebration in Feb. Van der Meer Tennis Center hosts The International Tennis Symposium $25,000 Championships.

MARCH SpringFest 2009! A month long celebration featuring the largest outdoor Wine Festival on the East Coast sponsored by Hilton Head Area Hospitality Assoc. St. Patrick's Day Celebrations on the island & Savannah,GA. The International Piano Competition. This event is always in early March and well worth your visit. Easter is March 4 in 2010

MAY/JUNE 2009 May is one of the most beautiful months Harbourfest begins in June. The 3rd Audubon Nature Festival & Rib Burnoff both in Shelter Cove Community Park. 4th Annual BRAVO: a month long celebration of the arts continues. Watersports activities are in full swing. Stingray Basketball Camp in June and July. A wonderful opportunity for your basketball star to upgrade his skills and become even more valuable to his team when he returns to school in the Fall.

JULY/AUGUST 2009 4th of July Celebrations! Water sports, beach fun, kayaking, sailing, warm ocean waters & wide beaches for you and your family to enjoy. Lots of families having a great time!!! National Championship Soccer Six Tournament. Summer is always a very busy time on the Island. Lots to do. You and your family will have a great vacation on our Island.

SEPT/OCT 2009 Sports Season!! Sports Season!! Tennis & golf tournaments, lots of water sports.
