LIGHTS OUT ALONG THE BEACH May thru October 10pm-dawn Protection of the Loggerhead Sea Turtle nesting and hatching season. Lights from your home or porch discourage the turtle from leaving the ocean to lay her eggs or to allow them to make their way back to the sea. It also confuses the baby turtles after they hatch, making them go toward the light instead of back to sea. Keep this magnificent creature reproducing and returning to our shores every year.
